MARSHFIELD, Wis. – September 1, 2026 | Nelson-Jameson, a leading distributor in the food processing industry, has announced that it has been named a Gold Well Workplace Award winner for 2026. By achieving this designation, Nelson-Jameson is recognized by the Wellness Alliance as one of the nation’s healthiest companies.
As a Well Workplace Award–winning organization, Nelson-Jameson has demonstrated a commitment to protecting and enhancing the health and well-being of each and every employee. All Well Workplace Award winners have used the patented 7 Benchmarks™ model to help build and shape their wellness programs.
“We’re so proud to once again be honored by The Wellness Alliance. This Gold Well Workplace award reflects our growth and our ongoing commitment to employee wellness inside and outside of the office,” says Mackenzie Schmutzer, Health & Wellness Specialist. “Nelson-Jameson strives each day to protect and enhance the health and well-being of each and every employee while always leaning on our guiding principles as a Golden Rule company.”
Schmutzer is set to speak on a panel at the upcoming Wisconsin Employee Wellness Conference (WEWC) from Dec. 8–9 in Madison, Wis. Highlighting the Well Workplace Process, the panel will explore real-world success stories, key challenges, and actionable takeaways for organizations looking to foster a thriving culture of well-being.
The Gold Well Workplace Award from The Wellness Alliance (formerly WELCOA – The Wellness Council of America) reflects Nelson-Jameson’s ongoing efforts to create a healthier environment for its employees and to set a standard for other workplaces in the community. As a “Golden Rule” company, Nelson-Jameson focuses on five key areas, including: meaningful partnerships, food safety and quality, community enrichment, sustainable supply, and thriving employees. These initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically emphasizing responsible consumption and production, promoting decent work and economic growth, prioritizing good health and well-being, and working towards the goal of zero hunger.
